Together we are strong

WorldCoaches is an initiative of the KNVB, but the football association does not carry the program on its own. On the contrary; the association is working closely with various partners from home and abroad.

Dutch government

WorldCoaches is supported by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Public Health, Welfare and Sport. Various Dutch embassies in the participating countries play a supporting role. The involved ministries have assigned priority countries in the area of sport and development cooperation. With these countries the Netherlands actively maintains bilateral relations.

WorldCoaches operates in Burkina Faso, Indonesia, Kenya, Mozambique, Senegal, Suriname, Zambia and South Africa in this capactiy. Sport acts in these countries as an instrument for health promotion, peace building in fragile states, conflict prevention, reconciliation and rehabilitation in (post-) conflict countries.

NIKE

Nike, the worlds biggest sports brand, is not only the clothing sponsor of Oranje and other national youth teams, Nike also supports women's football, KNVB football days and street and youth competitions. Furthermore, Nike is the social partner for the KNVB WorldCoaches project.

PWC

Since 1992, PwC sponsors the KNVB. In preparation for the 2010 World Cup, PwC added a new, social dimension to their word with the KNVB by becoming a sponsoring partner of WorldCoaches. PwC supports this initiative because it is convinced that sports created bonds between athletes, contributes to a better future and encourages development. PWC supports the program financially and as an educational partner. In the coming years PWC will implement, in association with the KNVB, the necessary management skills to the WorldCoaches.

Local knowledge

Local partners are essential to the success of WorldCoaches. These organizations have the experience, contacts and knowledge in the community. They are the first point of contact for local citizens in the implementing of the programs. Local communities, clubs, schools, NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) and the football association of the country: they all share their part in the success of WorldCoaches.
